Once you get to the Ridden stage it is an exciting time, but the first four stages should not be forgotten and always re visited when necessary.

Your world has now opened to the all the exercises that will aid in helping the development of your horse’s symmetry and continue the journey of the new relationship you are developing with your horse.

Step 5 of our training program, **Ridden Work – Riding in Lightness**, is the culmination of all previous steps, where the horse and rider apply the principles of harmony, balance, and communication developed throughout the training process.

In this phase, the focus is on achieving a light, fluid connection between horse and rider, where the rider's aids are subtle and precise, and the horse responds with ease and relaxation.

Riding in lightness emphasizes the importance of a soft, elastic contact, allowing the horse to move freely and with self-carriage, while maintaining a harmonious and balanced posture.

This step builds on the groundwork of cavesson training, lunging, mouthing, and in-hand work, encouraging the horse to carry itself with suppleness and ease under saddle.
