Avoca Park was purchased in 1991 by John and Leanne Williams as 12 acres of tee tree. The initial plan was to be able to live with their horses, which was at the time a leisure activity.
As the years progressed horse riding became more than just a hobby for them both and a business started to emerge. The development of the business was initially through horse riding lessons, then in 1994 their first stallion, Avoca Cardinal was born.
During the year 2000 the bunkhouse was developed and enabled the lessons to expand to include camps and clinics.
In 2002 the indoor arena, adjoining viewing area, kitchen, bathroom, apartment, small classroom, room with a view and offices were built. This enabled Avoca Park to host International instructors and their students.
The final stage of the development of this facility was the building of the large classroom, this enables Avoca Park to host any International or National presenter within the horse industry. Our large classroom contains everything any presenter would need to run a conference for between 20 – 50 students, including a full equine skeleton.
During the last 5 years Avoca Park has built up its herd of school horses and now is able to cater for all ages and levels of rider who don’t own their own horse.
